The programme, funded by the Cabildo of Lanzarote, evaluates 75 indicators across 10 stages of the customer journey and offers a personalised digital transformation plan, with ongoing advice, to make accommodation more efficient, customer-focused and competitive.
Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso & SPA, Hipotels La Geria, Hotel Diamar, Costa Volcán Apartments, Barcarola Apartments and Flamingo Apartments have participated this year.
The latest edition of this Asolan programme has marked a turning point, incorporating a revamped standard and an even more demanding methodology.
Six tourist establishments in Lanzarote have taken part in the tenth edition of the Smart CEX Hotel programme, developed by ASOLAN and Biosphere Responsible Tourism, which aims to boost the competitiveness of the destination by digitising the customer experience. The goal is to transform the journey from start to finish: from inspiration and booking to satisfaction and loyalty.
"After nine previous editions, this new programme has established itself as a useful and practical tool for accommodation providers, as it not only sets out a roadmap, but also supports companies in the actual implementation of improvements that have a direct impact on the guest experience," said Asolan president Susana Pérez.
Furthermore, the 2025 edition has marked a turning point, incorporating a renewed standard and an even more demanding methodology, which is not limited to verifying the existence of technological solutions, but also evaluates how they are applied to improve real results and design a consistent, fluid and measurable experience at each stage of the process. The programme is structured around 10 key stages of the customer journey, with a total of 75 indicators that comprehensively cover the customer's relationship with the accommodation.
Through an initial diagnostic report, the programme detects critical issues and identifies opportunities, then designs a personalised digital transformation plan, with ongoing advice until the actions are implemented. In short, it offers a clear roadmap for evolving towards a more competitive model: more data-driven, more efficient and more customer-focused, without losing consistency with the identity of the establishment and the destination.
With this membership, Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso & SPA, Hipotels La Geria, Hotel Diamar, Apartamentos Costa Volcán, Apartamentos Barcarola and Apartamentos Flamingo have reinforced their commitment to a model of continuous improvement, where digitalisation has a clear objective: to transform the customer's journey, improve their experience and strengthen their relationship with the accommodation before, during and after their stay.
The Smart CEX Hotel Project is part of Lanzarote's strategy as a Smart Tourist Destination and is funded by the Tourism Department of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, in addition to the collaboration of the ITR and Biosphere Responsible Tourism.
