Canary Islands Business Acceleration Programme Destination: towards innovative and digital tourism
February 24, 2026
The Canarias Destino Acceleration Programme helps businesses on the islands to activate online sales at no cost.
There are currently around 1,500 tourism companies in the Canary Islands offering unique experiences and working with local people to build the destination's identity. However, more than half do not market through their websites and only one in three are on digital platforms. With the aim of improving the competitiveness and sovereignty of the destination, Turismo de Islas Canarias is launching the Canarias Destino Acceleration Programme, a free initiative that helps companies offering activities on the islands to make the leap to online sales.
The programme is aimed at businesses that already have a digital presence, such as a website and social media, but have not yet managed to activate online sales. Those that do not meet the requirements will be able to access the Training Plan, designed to accompany them in their first steps towards digitalisation.
The first 240 tourism companies to register that meet the requirements will receive a booking engine free of charge for one year, allowing them to sell experiences online, synchronise availability across all sales channels, collect payment in advance and automate processes. Participating in the programme opens the door to the Marketplace Canarias Destino, hosted at www.holaislascanarias.com, the official destination portal, with more than 16 million visits per year and available in 18 languages. The objective: to prepare small and medium-sized tourism companies for an innovative tourism model that is more competitive and connected to the identity of each island.
